Gathering research images - A trip to Bridlington over the holidays changed my mind

I went to Brid during the easter holidays and as we were on the beach i was looking around and thought yeah this is a good opportunity to get some great textures here. So i went snapping with my camera and got some great images of moss, seaweed, metals, sand etc... and then i thought if i used my own source images instead of taking them from a texture website, thats gotta be more marks right? :)
Here's a few of the images i found -

So i didn't know yet what i was gonna do with these images and when i got back i was looking around the internet and i randomly came across an avatar picture and i looked at the colours an thought yeah i wanna use some sort of avatar feel colour system, all the greens and blues, purples, yellows, all the different shades of the colours. Here's the avatar pics i found -

Then i thought BOOM! my photos i collected are mossy, there great colours and would work well together with avatar colours, lets look at doing and overgrown plant level. So i know have an idea i like better than the last, that when the ship has crash landed into the college instead of blood and guts now it's crashed and from the crash the plants from the ship have spread around the walls of the college and have adapted to living there. There's moss hanging from the ceilings now instead of bags of corpses, the lights are more flattering now instead of dim and grim. Maybe there's dust particles in the air that you can see through a ray of light shinning on the moss stained floor. YES I LOVE THIS IDEA.
So know i'm starting to look at images of rest scenery and places that are overgrown, such as the uncharted series, the Lara croft series, avatar and others like it.
