comparing old star wars graphics to new

an example of 2D computer graphics

(1977) The computer graphics for the first Star Wars film was created by Larry Cuba in the 1970s at the Electronic Visualization Laboratory (EVL) (at the time known as the Circle Graphics Habitat) at the University of Illinois at Chicago.

I came across this and thought i'd put it up as an example. I like the fact that you can see the old computers being used and the time and tedious effort it took to create a very small bit of star wars.
I bet it was very difficult to do using like the crappest version of 'illustrator' ever. Comparing it to star wars films now

This clip has a cgi effect to it i can't wait to learn how to do like iron man and gamer the animation comes onto the big screen and the characters interact with the animated objects, i think this is brilliant the camera angles they chose to use. the colours always seem to be blue and green to be kind of techy-fied i think. Starwars - Classic! but yeah you can see from these two how far its come and how different animation can be.
